This is my very first post to locallyabroad.com and there are so many things I would like to say about it. But I figured it is best to start off with my or our first impressions about Malta and the idea of living here.
We first arrived in Malta at the end of May, after visiting my family in Germany for a week. A 2.5h long flight directly from Nuremberg to Malta and we arrived at our home to be. And the new adventure began! The first time arriving at a new place is always special. You never feel, see or smell a place in the same way when you know what to expect.
The first 10 nights we stayed with this amazing Italian couple who became our friends and made the first start even better. They provided us with a lot of tips and ideas and yes of course great Italian food. That combined with the sun and the sea was the best welcome I could have wished for.
And so we used our first weekend to discover the streets of Valetta, Sliema, San Gwann and many many more places. And soon there will be a rather informative post about the cities in Malta! We fell in love with the place and knew that we would be able to live here. There was a lot going on in the first days with the upcoming election and still, everything was new and we tried to find a place to stay and a job, but this another story.
And yet there is so much more to discover about this island…

On our first stroll in Malta!
By the Way: There are cheap flights from a lot of places all over Europe to Malta.
A great tool for booking your next flight is the Website Kayak!
